وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤۡمِنٍ اَنۡ يَّقۡتُلَ مُؤۡمِنًا اِلَّا خَطَـــًٔاۚ وَمَنۡ قَتَلَ مُؤۡمِنًا خَطَـــًٔا فَتَحۡرِيۡرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤۡمِنَةٍ وَّدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ اِلٰٓى اَهۡلِهٖۤ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يَّصَّدَّقُوۡاؕ فَاِنۡ كَانَ مِنۡ قَوۡمٍ عَدُوٍّ لَّـكُمۡ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٌ فَتَحۡرِيۡرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤۡمِنَةٍؕ وَاِنۡ كَانَ مِنۡ قَوۡمٍۢ بَيۡنَكُمۡ وَبَيۡنَهُمۡ مِّيۡثَاقٌ فَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ اِلٰٓى اَهۡلِهٖ وَتَحۡرِيۡرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤۡمِنَةٍۚ فَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَجِدۡ فَصِيَامُ شَهۡرَيۡنِ مُتَتَابِعَيۡنِ تَوۡبَةً مِّنَ اللّٰهِؕ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلِيۡمًا حَكِيۡمًا
And it is not (lawful) for a Muslim to kill a Muslim but by mistake (i.eunintentionally)And anyone who kills a Muslim unintentionally shall (be liable to) free a Muslim slave/slave girl and (pay) blood money, to be (necessarily) handed over to the heirs of the person slain, unless they remit itIn case, he (the slain) comes from the people who are your enemies and is a believer (as well), then (only) freeing a slave/slave girl is prescribedBut if he (the slain) belongs to a people between you and whom is a (peace) treaty, then blood compensation must be delivered to his family, and freeing a Muslim slave/ slave girl is also mandatoryThen he who does not find (a slave or slave girl) is (bound) to fast for two consecutive months(This is his) repentance (prescribed) by AllahAnd Allah is All-Knowing, Most Wise.
